is first team on your team?
First TEAM America, LLC is a regional technical assistance agency specializing in infrastructure development, strategic partnerships, and project management for both public and private entities.
For more than 30 years, we have partnered with communities to drive systems change by supporting strategic development initiatives across sectors.
Conceived in 1990 as Resources Plus, Inc., a resource development firm, First TEAM America has grown through two decades of transformation to become a trailblazing private entity specializing in health and wellness consulting.
What began as volunteer "labors of love" by dedicated consultants serving nonprofit agencies in Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina evolved into a full-time commitment to advancing family and community well-being.
Recognizing the need to invest greater human capital, Managing Principal Danette McLaurin Glass made the pivotal decision to leave her corporate career and devote herself fully to this mission. From 1990 to 1999, Resources Plus secured two contracts each year. Between 2000 and 2004, annual contracts doubled, reflecting the agency's growing reputation and impact. By 2009, First TEAM America was managing multiple regional contracts, expanding steadily to serve diverse partners and projects across the country—work it continues proudly today.
Our diverse team brings expertise from multiple disciplines—including development professionals, public health leaders, business executives, communications and public relations experts, community advocates, research scientists, licensed clinical social workers, educators, and community health workers—ensuring comprehensive, community-driven solutions.
Every engagement begins with a thoughtful, in-depth assessment to identify where your organization can grow and excel. Using these findings, we develop a customized tool "Game Plan" designed to directly support and advance your highest priorities.
Your First Team “Game Plan” includes a detailed project workplan that outlines clear timelines, milestones, and benchmarks to ensure measurable progress and sustained success.
